Trebon boasts one of the best-preserved historical city centers in the
entire country. Among the noteworthy buildings are especially the
Trebon
Castle (featuring a special kitchen dedicated to cooking exclusively
for
dogs!) and the elaborate Schwarzenberg Tomb, where members of the
aristocratic family which owned much of the surrounding area are
buried.
The town of Jindrichuv Hradec, another splendid historic town with
an
immense castle, is only about half an hour drive away.
Another nearby town is Ceske Budejovice, known also as home of the
original Budweiser beer. (Budweis is the German version of the town's
name.)br>
The Hluboka Castle is among the most impressive in the Czech
Republic,
some 45 minutes away by car.
There are several other castles and remarkable historic towns and villages
