Trebon is far less touristy than Karlovy Vary and Marianske Lazne, and ideal as a base for those who enjoy nature, hiking, and biking.

Since the landscape is rather flat but very scenic (much of the surrounding area is a protected nature reserve), even those who are not especially athletic will find a bicycle ride easy and enjoyable.

The system of artificial lakes, or ponds, which was established here in the late Middle Ages (the area was originally marshland) now serves several different purposes — for breeding freshwater fish, for recreation (swimming, sailing, recreational fishing), and as a wildlife sanctuary. Horseback riding, canoeing and other sports are also available.
