While most of its architecture dates only to the 19th Century, Karlovy
Vary boasts an elaborate Baroque Church of St. Mary Magdalene, the
work of
famous architect Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer.
Other notable sights include the gold-domed Russian Orthodox Church of
Sts. Peter and Paul, which was built here with funds provided by
visiting
Russian nobility.
Karlovy Vary is known as the home of the world-famous Moser glass
factory. Located on the outskirts of the city, the factory can be
toured. A company store is on premises.

The herbal liqueur, Becherovka, which is reputed to have medicinal
properties, is also made in Karlovy Vary. The spicy-tasting yellowish
liqueur is made from an old recipe containing a secret mixture of herbs.
The factory offers tours concluded by a visit to the tasting room;
moderation is advised, however.

The nearby medieval town of Loket boasts a well-preserved early
Gothic
castle and town center, and is popular with film crews as well as
visitors.
The castle of Becov nad Teplou, recently renovated, offers tours of
its
interiors as well as its terraced gardens.
